Kirk Sanderson – Founder

Kirk and his team at M&A Insurance Solutions built ContractsCompare in 2019 using natural language processing (NLP), artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning (ML). ContractsCompare was originally released under the name M&A EasyReader and was a finalist in the “LegalLaunch: Product Innovation Competition” at AmLaw Media’s Legalweek Conference held in February 2020.

Kirk is a serial entrepreneur and deal-maker who is passionate about building InsurTech (www.RW-Exchange.com) and LegalTech (www.ContractsCompare.com) solutions for the greater M&A markets.

Prior to M&A Insurance Solutions, Kirk was a Senior Vice President and Leader of the Transaction Risk / M&A Insurance practice at Equity Risk Partners (a Hub International Company). Prior to Equity Risk Partners, Kirk spent 7 years in Aon, most recently helping build the Aon Transaction Solutions team, the first U.S. retail brokerage firm to focus on delivering M&A insurance solutions to private equity, legal and corporate clients.

Kirk was a recipient of the Annual 40-Under-40 M&A Advisor Recognition Awards for his contribution to the overall M&A community through structuring representations and warranties insurance solutions. He has been a speaker/panelist/author for numerous contributions, including the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and LexisNexis Practice Advisor.

Kirk graduated with an MBA in IT Strategy and Finance from Bentley University.

Sanjay Hebbar - Partner

Sanjay is a partner with M&A Insurance Solutions and previously practiced as a corporate/M&A attorney at several top U.S. private equity law firms including Ropes & Gray, Morgan Lewis, and Akin Gump.

In the course of negotiating policies as a broker as well as various legal agreements as an attorney, Sanjay often experienced frustration with the limitations of current document comparison tools and is looking forward to helping grow the client base for ContractsCompare.

Sanjay holds a law degree from the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Cornell University with a degree in Psychology.

Steven Vanden Heuvel - Strategy and Operations

Steven is the Director of Strategy and Operations for the ContractsCompare team. He is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the business and oversees all aspects of the company’s back office. Steven also works closely with Kirk at M&A Insurance Solutions in the same capacity within the R&W insurance, M&A, and legal space.

Prior to joining M&A Insurance Solutions, Steven was a category manager at Walmart eCommerce and Jet.com, where he built a new private label brand in the sporting goods department to be sold on Walmart’s suite of eCommerce companies.

Steven holds a degree in finance from Coastal Carolina University.
